Ben's Award

This morning David came to our classroom with a package for Ben.  Ben got this package by entering a competition.  It was a Kidsline create a badge competition.  Ben won first place!  The competition was sponsored by Nestle so Ben's prize was a box full of Nestle treats.  Well done Ben!

Tallest Tower

We are learning to work together as a team and to show determination in a challenge.  Today we had a challenge to make the tallest tower we could.  All we had was one newspaper and cellotape.  The tower had to be able to stand without anyone holding on to it or without it leaning against something.

Koru Art

Check out our koru art.  We practised forming the koru shape and we have used pastel to make them bright and bold.

Hands-On Homework

This week's hands-on homework is to go onto Mathletics.  Mathletics is a great website with heaps of fun maths activities.  Once you have finished the set tasks you can go on live mathletics and compete against other children around the world.  Mathletics is free for us to use until the end of the week.  Have fun!

Hands-On Homework

This weeks hands on homework was a drawing competition.  The class could choose anything they wanted to draw.  Today we looked at all the pictures and together we judged whose we thought was best.  We each got to vote on our favourite drawing, but we couldn't choose our own!  Harrison and Thomas both got the most votes for their pictures.  Check them out!

Yay, we won flags!  We are so proud of ourselves for the great teamwork we had!  Well done to Salah who was the player of the day for keeping his eye on the ball.

The Turbos

Guess What?  The Turbos came and visited us yesterday!  Jaiden won a drawing competition so he was given a season pass.  How lucky!

With Jennifer yesterday we were learning to make a rap using a beat.  Check out Maia S, Ben and Cam's fruit rap.

Working as a Team

As part of our inquiry we have been learning to work as a team.  We had a challenge where you had to get your whole team across the river without falling out of the hoops.  Each team only had 2 hoops.  You had to communicate with each other, care for each other, work together and and encourage your team mates.  It was hard to do but when we did it again it was easier!

Welcome Josiah

A big welcome to Josiah who started in our class this week.  Josiah has come all the way from the UK.

We are excited to learn about the UK from you, Josiah!  We hope you enjoy being in our class.
