Hands-On Homework

With Easter being this weekend I thought it might be fun for our hands-on homework to be an activity to do with Easter.  So, this weeks task is to make an Easter egg using a hardboiled egg.  Decorate it however you want!  You could even make a basket for it.  Get creative and use your imagination!

Check out some of the easter eggs that Room 5 made.

ANZ Skills Session

Finally the time has come for Jaiden, Thomas, Jett & Loki to go down to Wellington for a Black Caps Skills Session. Jaiden's dad took us down. Thomas, Jaiden and Jett were in Ross Taylors group and Loki was in Martin Guptill's group. There were 8 skill session's. Our favourite was bowling.  You had to land it in the box and hit the wickets. At the end we had a sausage and got some a autographs.

We are learning to say our mihi.  We will be sharing our mihi at the marae in week 10.

Here are Sam and Kate's mihi.

Hands-On Homework

This week’s hands-on homework is to create something, show something, make something or bake something.  Take photos or a video to show everyone what you have produced. Have fun with it and show us what you got!

Here are some ideas that might be helpful:
  • Baking or cooking
  • Making a creation, with a set of instructions
  • Showing a demo of how to use or make something
  • Showing a magic trick
  • Singing a song or doing a dance
  • Playing a musical instrument
  •  Acting out a play or story

So get cracking! Looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with in this week’s task.

Hands-On Homework

There are always things that we can be grateful for.  It is important to thank the people that have helped us or care for us.

Your task this week is to write a letter, card, draw a picture to say thank you to someone who has done something that you are thankful for.

Here are some things that you might be thankful for:
  • someone looking after you when you are hurt (Rileigh-Kaye).
  • someone standing up for you (Fraser).
  • Ag for putting a plaster on your cut (Thomas).
  • your teacher for helping you with your learning (Rileigh-Kaye).
  • someone who has given you something (Nikitah)
  • mum and dad for looking after you (Jahkarn).
  • the person who let you go somewhere fun (Harrison).
  • Dad taking me to all the live sports (Jaiden)
  • your friend who plays with you (Kate).
  • Ivan who fixed our classroom door (Liam).

So lets be thankful this week and make something to the person who we are thankful for.

Don't forget to send me photos of your creation or bring it to school and show me before you give it away.

Family Photo

Last weeks hands-on homework was to take a family photo.  Well done to the children who took a family photo.  Here are some of them.

Hands-On Homework

This weeks hands-on homework is to take a family of you and your family and email it to me.  We are going to be learning our mihi so it will be great to have a photo of you and your family to go with it.

Here is a photo of me and my husband.

So what are you waiting for?  Take a family photo!
