How To Make a Smoothie

Check out Ella and Charlotte's photo's that show us how to make a smoothie.

I wonder what the O'Brien's secret ingredient is.  Can anyone guess?

Hands-On Homework

This weeks hands-on homework was to make a healthy smoothie.  Check out photos of some of the kids who took up the challenge.

Cereal - Packaging

Today we looked at different cereal boxes and what things were on the boxes and bags. We are wanting to think about what are on the packets so that we can decide how we want to package our cereal.

Cross Country

Today we had an amazing time for our cross country.  Unfortunately we were unable to go to Scoglund park because of the unpredictable weather.  Just as well we have an amazing team at school and a great course set out.  We were able to still go ahead with the cross country.  We were so proud of all the children who did such a fantastic job with giving it their all.

Watch this space for children's writing about the cross country.

Check out these photos.

Kelly Sport

Wow, was that Kelly Sport?  What a way to start the day!  Kelly Sport keeps us going in the morning.  It is a fantastic sports crew who do lots of different activities.

There were six sporting events.  They were throwing the ball and seeing how many times you could clap before you catch it, soccer, bowling, fishing (throwing a ball and catching it in a net) and rugby.

The soccer was funny to watch because after we had dribbled it around the cones we had to pick it up, throw it in the air and hit it with our bottom.  It looked hilarious!

Kelly Sport is going to be coming to our school every Tuesday afternoon for a after school program.  What fun that will be!

We are learning to show kotahitanga.  That is showing unity and togetherness.  Here is a video of us showing kotahitanga with our buddies.

Friday's Assembly

What a great assembly we had on Friday. Well done to everyone for doing such a wonderful job. Check out the video of it.

It was also wonderful to finally officially welcome Aalaa and Byron to our class.

Hands-On Homework

This term we are learning about living a healthy life-style.  That is about eating well and keeping active.

Your challenge this week is to create a poster or advertisement to encourage others to eat healthily and to keep active.  You could use photos, puppet pals, make a movie or come up with any other creative way to get your message across to others.  Think about what people can do to live a healthy life-style.

Hands-On Homework

This weeks hands-on homework is to do something active everyday.  This could be:

  • running
  • biking
  • walking
  • skipping
  • take your dog for a walk/run
  • swimming
  • playing a game in your back yard
  • climbing trees
It is important to keep ourselves active to be fit and healthy.  We are also training for the cross country which is in week 4, so being active each day will help us with this also.

Don't forget to send me your photos of you being active!  And have FUN!
